ROAD safety chiefs are urging drivers to pay full attention to the road.

The warning from Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership comes after a study revealed that UK drivers spend almost a fifth of their journey time ignoring the road.

Partnership chairman Mike Ashworth said: “You’re more likely to crash if you get distracted because you can’t react as quickly to what’s happening.”
