Driver suffers head injury during crash

A YOUNG driver ended up in hospital following a crash on Bakewell Road in Matlock at the weekend.

The blue Peugeot car is thought to have left the road and hit a tree close to the roundabout near Sainsbury’s late on Saturday evening.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Matlock, was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries, broken ribs and perforated eardrum. Despite being in hospital, he has asked the woman who helped him from the car to come forward so he can thank her.
