Customers will soon benefit from access to postal services from the early morning until late at night thanks to extended opening hours.
The Post Office branch in the Coop, Spring Gardens, Buxton, is to undergo a refurbishment in order to modernise it.
The new–look premises will have five counters and give people the opportunity to take advantage of services such as paying bills, bank transactions and topping up mobile phones, between 7am and 10pm Monday to Sunday, on top of the full range of services offered during regular opening hours.
Adrian Wales, Post Office Regional Network Manager for Central England, said: “We understand how important the Post Office is to people in Buxton and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
The Post Office will be closed for refurbishment from 3pm on Saturday, October 19.
The newly modernised branch will then be open from 1pm on Monday, October 21.
Nearby branches in High Street, Buxton, and School Road, Peak Dale, will look after the needs of customers during the brief closure.
Adrian added: “This modernisation is part of a three–year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around half of the Post Office network converting to new-style branches and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
The Post Office branch in the Coop, Norfolk Street, Glossop, is currently undergoing a similar refurbishment.
