Fifteen new Police Community Support Officers are now patrolling the streets of Derbyshire after completing their training.
The seven men and eight women joined Safer Neighbourhood teams across the county on Monday (February 11) and will be stationed in Ilkeston, Swadlincote, Staveley, Clay Cross, Buxton, Matlock and in different areas of Derby.
Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “I am delighted to welcome these new PCSOs to the force. Community support officers are vital to local policing and I’m sure they will make a genuine difference to the lives of people in the area they serve.”
Nineteen Safer Neighbourhood teams are now on Twitter, sharing details of local initiatives, appeals and police surgeries. To find out if your team is on Twitter, visit www.derbyshire.police.uk and click on ‘My Local Police.’
