RESIDENTS and visitors alike delighted in carnival capers at one Dales village over the weekend.

The annual Eyam Carnival took place amidst glorious sunshine and boasted scores of spectacular floats.

While the historic plague village is usually a picture of serenity – with the carnival it erupted into flurry of festivity.

Other attractions included a Sheep Roast, bands, fancy dress, children’s entertainment, stalls, food and lots of dancing.

Carnival organisers hailed the event and thanked everyone who took part.
