Fruit machine theft

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a pub in Matlock.

Some time between 3pm and 3.30pm on Saturday, August 1, a ‘substantial amount’ of cash was stolen from the fruit machine at Harvey’s Bar, in Matlock.

Police are now looking for a group of men who entered the pub around this time to play on the fruit machine.

A police spokesman said: “Five men entered the bar and went straight over to the fruit machine.

“The group were standing around for about five minutes before leaving and we believe one of these men stole the money.”
