Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire Alan Charles unveils details of his Crime Prevention Fund

The crime commissioner has appealed to groups to apply for funding.

Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Charles is reminding groups which work to make Derbyshire’s communities safer that the deadline for funding is at the end of the month.

Groups, including the county’s special constables, volunteers and community workers, have until May 1 to bid for a total of £125,000.

A second round of funding runs from July 10 to September 12.

Applicants to the Commissioner’s Crime Prevention Fund must show evidence their work helps reduce offences and deliver benefits to victims.

Commissioner Charles said: “I’ve very publicly sup-ported an approach that focuses on early intervention to overcome criminal behaviour patterns.

“I’m keen to hear from local groups and projects which can help me to deliver this.”

Grants of up to £25,000 are available for the right projects.
