Help make £25m cuts

RESIDENTS are being encouraged to give their views on how Derbyshire County Council can make a crucial £25m cut in spending.

An online budget calculator gives residents the chance to experience the difficult choices the council is facing..

Councillor John Harrison, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Finance and Management, said: “We’re all aware that the country’s economic difficulties are continuing, and – just as you have to at home – we also need to balance our books.

“We’re doing our best to make the most of the cash we’ve got by continuing to provide better value for money by cutting out waste, duplication and bureaucracy.”

To give your views visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/budget. The closing date is December 10.
