Kids’ talent blossoms
Budding gardeners have been rewarded for their green fingered efforts to make Matlock a prettier place.
All Saints Junior School, in Hurds Hollow, Matlock, was victorious in the school premises category of the Matlock in Bloom annual prize winners’ ceremony 2012.
There were a total of eight categories in the awards, which included allotments, individual gardens, business and community premises, small and large gardens, small and large house frontages.
The ceremony was held in the Imperial Rooms, Imperial Road, Matlock, and the winners won vouchers donated by local firms such as Derwent Treescapes, Neil Thompson nurseries, Forest Garden Centre, Matlock Garden Centre, Sainsburys and Wilkinsons.
Judges talked of excellent gardening practice across all the entries for this year’s competition.
