Lost hill walkers at Kinder Scout
A team of rescuers responded when they received two calls from walkers who had lost each other in Edale.
The two walkers, in their sixties from the Greater Manchester area were walking the southern edges of Kinder Scout in thick mist, when they became separated. The weather conditions at the time were thick mist, extremely poor visibility, icy underfoot with an increasing windchill.
The information received indicated they separated in the Pym Chair area, fortunately they located one another quite quickly and continued along the southern edge.
The team from Buxton Mountain Rescue met the walkers as they descended the Pennine Way at Jacobs Ladder.
They were then returned to their vehicle at Edale.
A team spokesman said: “ Following separation on Kinder Scout each walker was concerned for the safety of the other. They were appropriately equipped for the weather conditions.”
