Matlock artist helps celebrate 30 years of wildlife foundation

An artist has helped celebrate the 30th anniversary of a wildlife organisation.

Wildlife Artist Pollyanna Pickering was delighted to welcome Virginia McKenna, founder of the Born Free Foundation, to her gallery in Oker for a celebration day the special anniversary.

The pair spent the whole day signing copies of a specially created limited edition calendar. They were also joined by Will Travers, Virginia’s son chief executive of the foundation

Pollyanna presented Virginia with a cheque for £5150 to support the work Born Free do in protecting the Ethiopian wolves.

Virginia said: “One of my most delightful experiences is to visit Pollyanna Pickering’s Gallery in Derbyshire.

“To stand there, surrounded by her luminous and beautiful paintings of animals, is breath–taking.”
