Matlock crew attends two bins fires in one evening

Firefighters responded to two separate incidents of bins being set alight in Matlock last night.

The crew from Matlock was first called to the playing fields at Hurds Hollow at 6.10pm yesterday, where some commercial recycling bins had been set on fire.

They used one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and left the scene at 6.20pm.

They were then called to Smedley Street East at 8.24pm after a small bin was set alight in a park area.

A hose reel jet was used to put out the fire and the crew left at 8.50pm.
