Mini train exhibition
Model railway exhibition held by the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Alex Pleuvry with an O gauge model based on the chemical industries of Cheshire
Mini train spotters went off the rails in Wirksworth when the tenth model railway exhibition came to town.
The event was sponsored by Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Association and saw the Wirksworth overrun with tiny trains for an entire weekend.
The town hall, Memorial Hall and Parish Rooms all hosted exhibitions of miniature railways, as well as demonstrations and stalls.
Neil Ferguson–Lee, of Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, said: “It was very successful, we were very pleased with the number of people who came.
“It was great to once again have all these venues throughout town be filled up with visitors from far away. In the world of the miniature railway exhibition, Wirksworth is firmly on the map.”
He said that Wirksworth appealed to visitors who wanted to see full sized trains and miniatures.
