Nursery helps homeless

Children, parents and staff at one Dales nursery have been busy over the past few weeks gathering clothes and shoes for charity.

Youngsters at Treetops Nursery, Matlock, formed the collection to donate to their chosen charity Jigsaw – which works as part of the Church in the Peak charity.

The clothes and shoes will be donated to people who do not have a home and need support – especially in winter.

Sarah Knowles deputy manager said: “It’s a charity that helps so many people within our area, so we are more than happy to support with anything we can do in nursery.

“Over the next few weeks we will be collecting tins and packet food to put together food baskets for the charity to also give to the homeless.”
