Oxford places for teens

TWO brainy High Peak students have secured places at Oxford University.

Rob Weston, of Furness Vale, and Iain Barr, from Birch Vale, clinched places at the prestigious university following a gruelling application process.

Rob and Iain, who are A Level students at Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College, have secured places to study engineering and law respectively.

Biology teacher Mike Boyle said: “This year we have a remarkable set of well-focused students who have a superb set of exam results and are totally committed to their work.”
