PCC deputy appointed
Cllr Alan Charles Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire
Derbyshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has welcomed Hardyal Dhindsa as his £56,000-a-year deputy following the Police and Crime panel’s unanimous recommendation.
Last week PCC Alan Charles announced his intention to appoint the Derby city councillor to the role.
Following the unanimous recommendation by the panel, Mr Charles expressed his “delight” at having Labour’s Mr Dhindsa as his deputy.
Mr Charles, who is paid £75,000-a-year, said: “Hardyal Dhindsa’s work with Nottinghamshire Probation Trust, his excellent community links and the two years spent with the Crime and Drugs Partnership in Nottingham will be invaluable.”
Mr Dhindsa was selected from a shortlist of six “high calibre” candidates.
