Peak walk to protect national park future

Nature–lovers are invited to take part in a peak District walk with a former children’s TV presenter.

Former Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom will be taking part in this year’s Friends of the Peak District Magnificent Walk.

The event takes place on April 13 at Thornbridge Hall, near Ashford in the Water, and there are a variety of routes to choose from, taking in sights including the Monsal Trail, Baslow, Curbar Edges and Frogatt Wood.

The walk is being held in support of Friends of the Peak District, the only charity set up to protest the countryside of the national park.

To find out more about the event, people can visit the organisation’s website, www.friendsofthepeak.org.uk or telephone 0114 2792655.
