Police appeal after handbag is stolen

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a handbag in Wirksworth.

On December 7 a women’s handbag was removed from the back of her chair in the library on Coldwell Street, Wirksworth, between 11.30am and noon. The leather handbag contained bank cards, cash and a gold chain.

A witness saw a man acting suspiciously at the time of the crime.

He was described as white, mid to late twenties and around five foot six inches tall

with short dark hair and dark eyes, wearing a leather jacket and dark trousers.
