Police name man found dead in reservoir

Police have identified a man whose body was found in a reservoir at the weekend.

A member of the public alerted police after finding Samuel Sutton, 73, of Clay Cross, floating in Ogston Reservoir, near Clay Cross, on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “Someone contacted us on Monday to say they were concerned for the safety of a family member who had gone missing.

“The body has now been identified as that of Mr Sutton.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file in currently being prepared for the coroner.”
