Popular roadshow visits Chatsworth

Antiques enthusiasts from all around Derbyshire mingled outside Chatsworth House this month when the BBC's Antiques Roadshow paid a visit.

The Duke of Devonshire welcomed the television show's presenter Fiona Bruce, who was visiting the estate for the first time with the programme.

She was heard saying that the visit had made her fall in love with Derbyshire and she planned on visiting the county for her holiday in the future.

Among the many items on show were a pair of Queen Victoria's stockings discovered by staff of Strutt's North Mill in Belper and a portrait from Ashbourne which was valued at 500.
