Pupils throw festive bash

Sixth formers at Highfields School bought the festive season alive by throwing a Christmas party for elderly people in Matlock.

The students served mince pies, hosted a quiz, played pass the parcel and held an old-fashioned Beetle Drive for friends and residents of Denefields Court, Matlock.

Pupil Lewis Proffitt also kept the party entertained with an acoustic session on his guitar.

Sally Atkin, sheltered housing officer at Denefields, said: “The residents hugely enjoyed the night and it was great to see the two generations mixing and having so much fun.”
