Purr-fect Peak pantomime fun

Youlgrave Panto, Puss in Boots,

Youlgrave Panto, Puss in Boots,

PANTOMIMES have been presented in a Peak District village for half a century and the tradition is still going strong.

Each year more than 2,000 people flock to Youlgreave to watch a festive spectacular which has been four months in the making.

This year’s offering, Puss In Boots, is produced by Jan Wilson who has been at the helm of 34 of the village’s 51 pantos.

Nic Wilson will play Dame Daffodil, ably supported by Simon Edmonds, John Orchard, Keith Evans, Katie Henwood, Lillian Clark, Sophie Dillon, Jade Shimwell and Dilys Morgan.

Damion Glover and Thomas Birch are the mischievous miller’s sons and Eve Birch is a lovable Puss!

The company includes 15 children, some of whom have never been in a panto before.

The show is taking place at Youlgreave Village Hall from January 30 to February 2 and from February 6 to 9. Call 01629 636284 for tickets.
