Room is unveiled
Opening Ceremony: Headteacher Sarah I'Anson and pupils Lily Meikle-Janney and Nicholas Lee officially open the new classroom at Middleton-by-Wirksworth Primary School.
A new classroom will give youngsters the space their need to grow and learn.
Middleton Community Primary School, in Main Street, Middleton–by–Wirksworth, officially unveiled the classroom at a ceremony last week.
It will be used primarily by reception age children.
Mike Coveney, chairman of the board of governors for the school, said: “It was a team effort on the part of the staff, governors and Derbyshire County Council to build the new classroom.”
As well as giving the youngsters more space, the new classroom also has a subsidiary room which can be used for meetings and smaller groups.
“Previously the staff room has been used for about six different groups and its been very trying,” Mike continued.
“There is also full disabled toilet in the new room as well.”
