TOTs have been given a taste of life in the classroom after being invited to a village school.

Crich Infants School pupils welcomed younger children into their classroom as part of a scheme to give the youngsters a taste of what is in store for them.

The free-flow sessions saw pre-schoolers, aged from two to four, join the pupils in classes.

Headteacher Julie Kirk said: “It helps the transition from pre-school to infants school as the children settle in much more quickly.

“It gives us a chance to meet parents as well.”

The school, which teaches 39 children at the moment, is expecting numbers to swell to a capacity of over 45 next year.
