THE SEARCH for Buxton’s Well Dressing Festival Queen and her retinue is now on.

A selection day will take place next weekend and anyone interested in becoming involved is invited to enter.

The age limits are queen 12 - 16 years; senior attendants eight to 11 years; small attendants five to seven years; rosebud five to seven years and pageboy five to 11 years.

Entry forms are available from Hargreaves in Spring Gardens, the Buxton Advertiser office at 10 Scarsdale Place, and Goddards music shop on High Street, Buxton.

Forms must be returned before the selection day event, which will be held at the Working Mens’ Club, Buxton, at 2pm on Sunday February 24.

The Well Dressing Committee provide the outfits for the retinue but anyone who is selected is asked to provide their own transport to get to events, and courts of queens, throughout the year.
