Show your love for Cavendish Playing Fields

Matlock residents have a chance to show love for their playing field by voting for it.
The trustees of Cavendish Fields Sports Association are asking people to vote for the fields in the category of ‘Most Loved Field’ in the Queen Elizabeth II 2012 Fields Challenge.
Voting for the contest closes on Friday at 5pm and the playing field with the most votes will win the accolade.
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 29 at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Trustee Gary Leech said: “People are encouraged to vote to show how much they appreciate their fields.”
The playing fields are protected from being built upon, meaning it will be preserved for future generations to enjoy.
The trustees now want to make the most of them.
Gary continued: “We just wanted to make sure we could protect that land for the benefit of all the kids that use it.
“They get very busy with all the different teams that use them.”
“We are always looking to see what support there is to help develop the site.”
