Something for all the family at annual Oli Day

The seventh annual Oli Day, in memory of Chapel-en-le-Frith man Oliver Everall, is taking place this weekend.

Oliver, who was 23, died in February 2007 after a car accident on the A6 near Lyme Park.

A keen sportsman, his family set up the Oliver Everall trust fund after his death, money from which is distributed to local good causes and charities each year.

This year’s Oli Day takes place on Sunday at Chapel Town’s football ground, Rowton Park.

Running from noon until 5pm, the family fun day features a variety of attractions and events for everyone to enjoy.

There will be an adults six-a-side football tournament with 12 teams competing, a bouncy castle, barbecue, beer tent, tombola, raffle and more.

In the evening, the entertainment will continue with live music, karaoke and discos in the Market Place pubs.

Entry to the Oli Day is free, but commemorative wristbands will be sold on the gate for £2.

All proceeds from the event will go to the trust fund.
