Ghosts and ghouls were out for a monster mash in Hall Leys Park as Matlock enjoyed a Halloween shin dig to remember.

The event, organised by Matlock Town Team, was opened by Matlock mayor Peter Wildgoose and went on into the evening on Saturday.

There were fairground rides, stalls, spooky crafts and bands to keep all ages entertained. Wendy Spencer, of the town team, said: “It was really really good, especially as it was the first time that we did it.

“There was a steady flow of people all day long and there were people dancing all day as well – it was a massive success.”

The town team now hopes to host at least four events in the park on an annual basis.
