Stardom for teen
NDET 5-10-12 TW 2 Katy Gigg appeared on Hero Squad
A SPORTY teen has had her small screen debut on a kid’s TV show.
Katy Gigg, of St Michaels Close, Crich, appeared on CBBC’s action-packed Hero Squad show on Monday night.
The show was one of a series of 10 programmes in which six youngsters face the challenges of various rescue organisations such as the RNLI, mountain rescue and the RAF
The 13–year–old, who attends Anthony Gell School, is football mad, and plays for the Derby County Centre of Excellence and has attended the England under 15s training camp.
Mum, Liz, said: “I think it was because of her physical fitness that she was selected, because the tasks are very physical. It was a brilliant thing for her to do.”
Katy was sent a letter from Prince William congratulating her on her achievements.
