NDET 5-10-12 TW 2 Katy Gigg appeared on Hero Squad

Viewers have another chance to see a sporty teenager take on action packed adventures on a children’s TV show.

Katy Gigg, of St Michael’s Close, Crich, will be appearing on CBBC’s Hero Squad on Monday evening.

The 13–year–old was chosen for the programme out of thousands of entrants.

There are ten episodes in the series, which see Katy and five other youngsters put to the test alongside various organisations such as the RNLI, cave rescue and the RAF.

The Anthony Gell School pupil loves football and plays for Derby County Centre of Excellence from where she has been selected for England Under 15s training camps.

Mum, Liz, said she was proud of her daughter, and thought her sporty nature may have helped her in the selection process for the show.

Hero Squad will be aired at 5pm on Monday.
