Toy pistol smash fine

From the courts

A MATLOCK mum who smashed a window at her father’s home to retrieve a water pistol has been banned from contacting him.

Becky Mahon, prosecuting, told Chesterfield magistrates that David Blackwell had previously asked daughter Teresa to leave his address because of her behaviour.

A neighbour told him that Blackwell, 35, went there on August 28 and put a breeze block through the lounge window to gain access.

“She said she did it because she couldn’t get in to collect her son’s water pistol,” said Ms Mahon.

Blackwell, of Lumsdale Crescent, Matlock, admitted damaging property.

The bench fined her £88, with £200 compensation and £85 costs.

Magistrates also imposed a restraining order, banning her from contacting her father for a year.
