Two cows at a Peak farm have beaten the odds by each giving birth to a set of healthy female triplets.

The calves, born within weeks of each other at Old House Farm, Friden, near Newhaven, are extremely rare, not only because of their quantity and good health, but also the fact that they are all female.

Dairy farmer Tom Flower said it was the first time in his 50 years of milking he had seen it happen.
