Volunteers to help police in pilot scheme
A pilot scheme to allow volunteers to help the police in the Derbyshire Dales is due to be launched later this month.
The police support volunteers will be appointed to help with administration tasks to assist the Safer Neighbourhood throughout the area.
Some volunteers will be asked to take messages, arrange meetings, take minutes, update computer records and perform other administrative work.
Others will help by distributing leaflets, putting up posters, washing cars or doing other manual tasks.
