Walk Ten raises funds for cancer
Over 500 people took part in a summer evening stroll at Chatsworth to raise more than £20,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The 10k walk at Chatsworth was one of a series of unique twilight walks taking place at 25 stunning venues across the UK.
All the funds raised will help Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes and in the charity’s hospices.
David Hedges, Regional Events fundraiser, said: “We are so pleased that people from Derbyshire came out in force to show their support for Marie Curie Cancer Care at Chatsworth.
“It was a truly fantastic event and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along and raised crucial funds.
“The money will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more than 1000 hours of care and will make a significant difference to people with terminal illnesses and their families.”
Following the walk there was music, picnics and a fire show throughout the evening to celebrate the work of Marie Curie Nurses.
