A picturesque Peak village is once again braced for an annual celebration.

Tissington Well Dressings will take place between Thursday, May 29, and Wednesday, June 4.

Six wells will be dressed throughout the village.

More than 35,000 visitors are expected to view the dressings during the week.

The guest preacher this year at the annual service of blessing of the wells will be Reverend Canon Simon Taylor from Derby Cathedral.

He will preach at the service at St Marys’ Church at 11am on Ascension Day, May 29, which will be followed by the procession and blessing of the Wells.

The vicar of Tissington Rev Andy Larkin will take the service and lead his fellow clergy around the village.
