Wheelie good ride

A DAD and daughter combo have raised £1275 for two cancer charities after cycling 170 miles in three days.

David and Rachel Moore, of Cromford, geared up for the Way of the Roses coast-to-coast ride in a bid to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Macmillan.

The gruelling route – which begins at Morecambe Bay and finishes in Bridlington – took the pair through Lancashire, over the Pennines and into the Yorkshire Dales.

Rachel, who now lives in Dubai, said: “It was a tough ride, the hills were relentless and seven hours in the saddle each day was a bit painful – but we did it.”

Family members were waiting to watch the duo cross the line in Bridlington.

Mother and wife, Carol Moore, said: “I am so proud of what they have achieved. The money raised will be split between two very worthwhile charities.”
