BONFIRE night is, for many people, a perfect opportunity to illuminate the sky with rockets, feast on toffee apples, make patterns with sparklers and meet with friends around a roaring fire.
However, many people will no-doubt be keen to find an event to head along to for a dose of November 5 hijinks.
Owing to this, we’ve put our feelers out to spotlight some of the best bonfire night events across the Dales.
Chatsworth House will be hosting their fire work display on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4. As ever this event promises to be one of the very best in the area.
On both nights, the gates will open at 6.30pm and the actual display will begin at 8pm.
For more information and to book tickets, log on to www.chatsworth.org.
Gulliver’s Kingdom is set to give the revered stately home display a run for its money, though.
Their stunning display is to take place on Saturday, November 3 and the gates will open at 6pm.
If you fancy heading along to this event, you can find more details and book tickets by logging on to www.gulliversfun.co.uk/matlock-bath.
A display will be taking place at the Pavillion Fields in Carsington on Monday, November 5, giving those keen to celebrate on the night itself the perfect opportunity.
Entry is £5 per adult, £3 per child and family tickets can be purchased for £12.
The Grouse Inn at Darley Dale will also be hosting their annual bonfire night and fireworks display on Saturday, November 3.
The bonfire is being lit at 7.30pm and the fireworks display will begin at 8pm.
There will also be refreshments, barbecue and entertainment for children to enjoy.
On Sunday evening the Cavendish Playing Fields Sports Association will be holding a blaze to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.
The fire will start at 6pm at the Cavendish Playing Fields, followed by a fireworks display at 7pm.
Admission is £3 per adult, £2 per child and entry is free of under 7s.
On our Facebook page, Susie Rogers insists that there’s always a good bonfire at Middleton School. So, if you’re in the area, it might be worth checking it out.
If there’s any events we’ve missed that you would like us to promote then email firstname.lastname@example.org, tweet to @MatMerc or find us on Facebook and we will make sure it goes on the Matlock Mercury website.
Whatever it is you are up to on bonfire night, though – have a good night and keep safe.
