Writers get kick started

A creative day has been organised to spark the interest of those wishing to write for young adults.

Teenage Kicks is a young adult fiction day organised by Derbyshire County Council in partnership with Nottingham–based Five Leaves Publications, which offers people an opportunity to meet readers and writers of teen fiction.

The afternoon kicks off with some words from young adult fiction author Bali Rai, followed by two break–out sessions.

Teenage Kicks will take place on Friday, November 16, between 1pm and 5pm at The Hub, in Shiners Way, South Normanton.

Tickets are £10 for adults and free for young people aged 12 to 17. To book contact Ali Betteridge on 01773 831359 or alison.betteridge@derbyshire.gov.uk
