A school plans to transform an unused plot of land into a kitchen garden.

Youngsters at Bakewell Infant School, in Bath Street, will benefit from planting beds, fruit trees, a pond, story area and wildlife section on the land at the bottom of their school field.

The land was released following an agreement with the Scouts and The Medway Centre.

Head teacher Tricia Outram said: “It is an exciting time at the school and we are looking forward to getting this project started in the New Year.”
