A man who stole a van in Clay Cross was snared by police just half a mile away from where he had nicked it.

Roads police stopped the driver yesterday afternoon because he 'had a guilty look on his face'.

The owner of the Ford Transit was unaware it had been stolen.

The man was arrested.

A tweet by Derbyshire Roads police said: "Must have looked to his left and had an epiphany. One arrested. #CoppersNose."
