Waltz back in time at gala

a JOHANN Strauss Gala is to be staged at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on Saturday, February 18, at 7.30pm.

Waltz back in time to the glittering ballrooms of 19th century Vienna with an enchanting mix of music, song and dance from the Strauss family and friends.

David Juritz will direct from the violin in the traditional Viennese manner and the Johann Strauss Orchestra will be joined by the Johann Strauss Dancers in period costume.

The programme includes The Blue Danube Waltz, Die Fledermaus Overture, Wiener Blut, Thunder and Lightning Polka and the Pizzicato Polka.

Tickets cost £24-£28.50 and are available by calling the box office on 01332 255800.
