Worcestershire are closing in on victory on the final day of the Division Two County Championship match at Derby with Derbyshire facing an innings defeat.

After Worcestershire declared on 415 for 9 with a lead of 145, Derbyshire lost 4 for 9 in 17 balls and at lunch, are 33 for 4.

The visitors added 92 runs in 17 overs with Tom Kohler-Cadmore hitting two sixes in his 42 before Shiv Thakor bowled him to finish with figures of 4 for 45 while Jeevan Mendis took 4 for 98.

Derbyshire soon lost Ben Slater who chipped Ed Barnard to midwicket and Thakor was lbw without scoring before a direct hit from Barnard ran out Luis Reece who was batting with a runner because of a bruised ankle.

It got worse for Derbyshire when Billy Godleman was lbw to Joe Leach for a duck and Worcestershire have 67 overs to take the remaining six wickets.
