Chatsworth to host 10k and Olym-picnic

THE Derbyshire Dales Village Games are hosting their own celebration in the form of an Olym-Picnic on Sunday, May 20, in conjunction with the Helen’s Trust Chatsworth 10K and Family Fun Run.

The event has been organised in order to welcome the Olympic Torch into England.

Katy Stubbs, Derbyshire Dales Village Games co-ordinator said: “Qualified sports coaches will be offering a variety of activities including Tag Rugby and parachute games as well as local Theatre Company 1623 being in attendance.

“The activities will be suitable for all ages, so bring the whole family to cheer on the runners and try a new activity.”

At 12.30pm, the day will be rounded off with a mass picnic on the Chatsworth Estate, so don’t forget to pack your sandwiches and a blanket and be part of the Derbyshire Olym-picnic Weekend.

Laura Mayes, race director for Helen’s Trust said “This is a fantastic addition to the already successful event and we are really pleased that we have teamed up with Derbyshire Dales to celebrate Olympic year in style.”
