THERe was another busy week of summer action at Matlock Golf Club.

Matlock A won their Spondon Plate quarter final match against Lutterworth A 5.5 to 1.5. The team now goes through to the semi-final against Cosby A. The match will be played at Chevin Golf Club.

Unfortunately, the ladies narrowly lost in their quarter-final Spondon Trophy match against Ingestre Park at home 3 to 4. Matlock were the last Derbyshire team left in the competition.

The Captain’s Team played their annual match against the Police for the Handcuffs Trophy. In an orderly match the Captain’s team won 5-1.

In other inter-club matches, the Ladies Bronze team played at home to Chapel losing 2 to 3. The Captain’s Team played away at Erewash losing 4.5 to 1.5.The seniors played at Alfreton away, losing 4 to 2.

In the Juniors Medal, the results were; Division One winner Ed Lee, 2nd Ben Edgson, Division 2 winner Dominic Attenbrough, 2nd Tom Mooney.

In the Sunday Medal, Jenny Knight won the Ladies 76 (12) 64, with Shirley Kay second 102 (25) 77. In the Men’s competition winners were Division One Phil Evans 69 (3) 66, Division Two Ian Marr 79 (13) 66, Div 3 Karl Mellor 84 (18) 66, Div 4 Jason Rusinowski 84 (19) 65.
