Have a go at orienteering
Derwent Valley Orienteers and its offshoot, the Matlock Orienteering Club, will be organising an event in Hall Leys Park on Saturday, February 18.
The event has been put together with the support of Derbyshire Dales District Council and offers you a chance to try your hand at orienteering.
This involves using a map of the park to navigate your way round to find controls. You can walk or run, it suits all ages and abilities and it’s fun.
There will be three courses – Easy, Medium and Hard and the event will run from 10.30am to 12noon. The cost is £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.

The orienteering club is also supporting an Indoor Introduction to Orienteering for Children aged 7-13 event, to be to be held at the ARC Leisure Centre on Tuesday, February 14 from 1.30pm to 3pm.
