Perfect blend
IT was a blend of youth and experience that mastered the blustery conditions best when Matlock Golf Club's new season competitions got underway last Saturday.
James Wain and Norman Saunders carried off the Winter League Cup with a six under par 64, just one shot ahead of Barry Dring and Sammy Jones, who in turn edged out Richard Hayes and Brian Walker on the back six.
This Saturday the spotlight turns on the senior golfers with a Single Stableford for the Bill Pitts Trophy, while the Easter programme features Medal No 1 on the Saturday and a Bank Holiday Stableford on the Monday.
