Sheen were flying the flag for England again at the UK indoor tug of war championships held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, recently.
Representing England in the 600 kilo weight class, Sheen got off to a good start by defeating their main challengers Northern Ireland A early in the competition. England went through the remainder of the competition unbeaten to finish in the top-four.
In the semi-finals, they quickly dispatched Northern Ireland B, before setting up a re-match with Northern Ireland A in the final, who defeated last year’s world 600 kilo champions Scotland A.
Sheen eventually took the gold medal in convincing fashion, winning 2-0.
A number of Sheen’s men were then involved for England in the 680 kilos competition for the England B team. Again, this team was a force to be reckoned with, and they went through the group stages without losing an end.

They defeated England A in the semi-finals, and comfortably eased past Northern Ireland A again in the final to give England their second gold medal of the UK championship.
Following the international event, the UK open club competition took place, with teams from the UK countries also being joined by teams from the Republic of Ireland.
Competing in the 640 kilos competition, Sheen advanced from the ten-team group stage, before running out 2-0 winners over Mountain View from Ireland in the final.
This result means that, over the course of the indoor season, Sheen have won a gold medal in every competition they have competed in.
Following the completion of the event, the teams were presented with their gold medals by Dame Mary Peters, an Olympic gold medallist in 1972 and ambassador to the London 2012 Games.
With the indoor tug of war season now completed, teams will be turning their attention to the outdoor tug of war season.
