Two new signings for Bucks

Ex-Rotherham United defender Jamie Green is one of two new signings unveiled by Buxton FC ahead of Saturday’s home game against Evo-Stik Premier Division strugglers Eastwood Town.

Attacking left-back Green, who made more than 60 appearances for The Millers, joins the Bucks from Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Worksop Parramore.

The 23-year-old has also represented Boston United, on loan, and Grimsby Town, before an injury setback saw him drop down into non-league football at Rossington Main and Parramore.

Bucks boss Martin McIntosh said he was excited about the signing.

“Jamie is a player who can play anywhere on the left-hand side,” he said. “He’s got a lot of pace, and I think he will be another good addition to the squad.”

Green is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game against The Badgers along with another new signing, young goalkeeper Andrew Mills.

Arriving on a month-long loan from Macclesfield Town, Mills will provide cover for the injured Ian Deakin following the recall of Craig Dootson by loan club Kendal Town earlier this week.

Mills spent the first half of the season with Evo-Stik First Division North side New Mills, making 16 first-team appearances.

Saturday’s fixture against Eastwood at the Silverlands kicks-off at 3pm.
