Vipers hit the goal trail

Wirksworth Vipers 13

Coal Aston Football Academy 0

After the drama of last week’s penalty shootout, it was back to a straightforward league victory for the Vipers.

Wirksworth totally dominated, as the score suggests. They bagged ten first half goals although the second half was slightly more even as CAFA started to compete, but it was Vipers who still produced excellent football and good goals.

The best of the goals came in the first half when Tom Payne received the ball, back to goal 12 yards out, flicked it into the air, producing an unbelievable bicycle kick that flew into the top corner.

This was closely followed by a great goal from Harry Mitchell that flashed into the top corner, leaving the CAFA keeper no chance. The Vipers goals came from Tom Payne (four), Lucas Brough (two), Harry Mitchell, Spike Armstrong, Luke Ferry, Charlie Mellor and Lewis Higton. There were also great performances from ever-reliable Alex Maguire, Jamie Everest and Michael Wright at the back.
