Clubs have 20/20 vision

THE first round of the Winston Cup takes place this Saturday, with almost all Sheaf Sports Yorkshire and Derbyshire Cricket League teams taking part in the 20/20 competition.
Named in honour of former Hathersage player, committee member and umpire Brian Winston, the competition begins with ten of the league’s grounds each hosting three teams.
Groups featuring Dales clubs.
l Group Four (Walton Dam)
Bakewell, Chesterfield Barbarians I, Dronfield Woodhouse I
l Group Six (HSBC Sports Ground)
Stanton, Weston Park Hospital I, Millhouses
l Group Eight (Baslow)
Baslow, Sheepbridge, Hathersage
l Group Nine (Bracken Moor)
Ashford, Youlgrave Lodge, Stocksbridge
l Group Ten (Beauchief Hall).
Calver, De La Salle, Dronfield Sports Contact.
The action starts at 11am and the winners will progress to round two, in which four grounds will host three clubs in a round robin tournament on Saturday July 19.
Fittingly, the venue for finals day on Saturday September 13 is Hathersage’s Baulk Lane ground.
